Knowledge base.

If you encounter an error preventing the DICOM Viewer from starting, please see the Knowledge Base section. If you did not find the answer to your question, contact Technical Support by attaching the DUMP file that the DICOM Viewer creates if it crashes.

If you encounter an error in the program, please read this section of the Knowledge Base, perhaps you will find the answer to the question. If you have not found a solution, switch the DICOM Viewer log level mode to the Debug mode.
To do this, select the "Options" - "Settings" menu. In the General tab, switch the Log level to Debug mode.

If you changed the path to the log file, or do not know its location, you can see it in this Settings window. You can also change the location of the log file by clicking the button that is circled in purple in the screenshot below.

When you contact Technical Support, please attach a log file and a DUMP file after reinitializing the error so that the error is written to the log file and we can analyze it.

The log file is standardly called "dcmviewer.log", you can change the name of the log file in the "Settings" window from the screenshot above.
The dump file uses in the name the date when the Viewer crashed and the program version. For example, "200619072228UTC1.13.1.19798.dmp".

The default locations for the log file and the DUMP file are:

Windows:
C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Inobitec\Inobitec DICOM Viewer VERSION\Logs - for the log file.
C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Inobitec\Inobitec DICOM Viewer VERSION\Dumps - for the DUMP file.
The "Appdata" folder is hidden to go into it, enter the path in the address bar in Explorer, or configure the visibility of hidden and system files and folders

Linux (using Ubuntu as an example):
/home/USER/.local/share/Inobitec/Inobitec DICOM Viewer VERSION/Logs
The ".local" directory can be hidden to go to it, enter the path in the address bar in the file manager, or use the console. You can also configure the visibility of hidden files and folders in the system.

MacOS (example 10.14):
~/Library/Application Support/Inobitec/Inobitec DICOM Viewer VERSION/Logs

~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports - for the DUMP file (Crash report).

USER is your username, and VERSION is the version of the DICOM Viewer.
