¶ General Information
- The license is tied to a unique device identifier — the product key.
- For perpetual licenses, there is no time limit on usage.
- Licenses contain information about the updates support period.
¶ Product key
- The product key is generated based on several factors, including the device's hardware.
- When replacing components, performing a major OS update, or changing the state (on/off) of certain network adapters, it is possible that the product key will change and the license in the Viewer will be deactivated.
- In case of product key change and license deactivation: Product key changed.

¶ Viewer Licensing
- The Viewer is licensed online; a constant Internet connection is required to access our license servers to activate a license or trial period, as well as to verify them.
¶ Possible errors and problems
¶ The license key does not match the used version of the Viewer
¶ Solution
- Contact technical support at support@inobitec.com for information about the license key, its updates support period, and the maximum version of the program that can be activated with your license.
- Renew your update subscription to use current versions of the Viewer.
- Use a previously saved distribution of the appropriate program version.

1. Checking the availability of license servers
Make sure requests to our license server addresses are not blocked. To do this, use the ping system utility.

Please note, the ping command shows the physical availability of the servers from the device, not from the Viewer. The program's network access may be blocked by local operating system security tools.
2. Antivirus and firewall configuration
Check your security software settings, including system ones (e.g., Windows Firewall). The parameters must allow the Viewer network access.

Note: Third-party antivirus software is managed through its own interfaces. If you use a third-party antivirus, the OS firewall may be inactive — you need to add the program's executable file to the exceptions and temporarily disable the protection in the antivirus settings.
¶ DICOM Server (PACS) Licensing
- PACS is licensed using a license file that contains information about connections and the updates support period.

- In case of product key change and license deactivation: Product key changed.
¶ Recommendations
- If the server is installed on a virtual machine, it is necessary to fix the MAC addresses of the network adapters in the hypervisor.
¶ Web DICOM Viewer Licensing
- The Web Viewer is licensed online; a constant Internet connection is required to access our license servers to activate a license or trial period, as well as to verify them.
- The trial period is not available when installed on virtual machines.
